Urban, Suburban, Rural

Quora: Why are Europeans poorer than Americans?

US:
– disposable income higher
– everything’s much more expensive: decent food, communication (cell phone, broadband internet, car insurance, medical insurance)
– property tax (brutal), income tax
– going out: 20% gratuity

Europe:
– better quality of life

Income vs living expense / living cost

High paying cities’ issue:
– commute time (traffic)
– car payment, full coverage insurance, fuel, maintenance
– work life balance: life is made up of more than working
– higher wage, higher cost

suburb: the edge of a large town or city (residential area)

Rural – urban – suburban

cost for healthcare went up
suburban: free healthcare –> probably due to competition for employees in profession
– with copay $5 or $10 copay for medications
– with $50 copay for the Emergency Department

less competition for healthcare patients
$400 a month for an 80/20 plan (they pay 80% I pay 20% up to $3500. – then after that $3500 is met it is 100% covered)

– depends on what item you look at and what parts of the US/Europe you consider
– downtown vs village
– US higher expense: healthcare and higher education
